REPERTOIRE

VOICE

Artists Category (Ages 18 to 36)

SEMIFINAL ROUND (30 competitors)

Each vocalist will perform a short recital program between 15 and 20 minutes in length. The program must include:

  • An aria or a song by George Gershwin.
  • 1 classical aria
  • The remainder of the program will be chosen by the vocalist.

1 aria chosen from the repertoire of the Preliminary Round may be repeated in the Semifinal Round.


FINAL ROUND (10 competitors)

Each contestant will perform a recital program between 25 and 30 minutes in length. The program must include:

  • An aria or a song by George Gershwin.
  • 2 classical arias NOT performed in the Semifinal Round.
  • The remainder of the program will be chosen by the vocalist.

The program should demonstrate the candidate’s ability to present a stylistically diverse program. Gershwin's Aria performed at the Semifinal Round may be repeated in the Final Round. Classical Aria(s) from the previous rounds may NOT be repeated in the Final Round.

Young Artists Category (Ages 17 and younger)

SEMIFINAL ROUND

Each contestant will perform a short recital program between 10 and 15 minutes in length. The program must include:

  • An aria or a song by George Gershwin.
  • 1 classical aria
  • The remainder of the program will be chosen by the vocalist.

Arias chosen from the repertoire of the Preliminary Round may be repeated in the Semifinal Round.

FINAL ROUND

Each contestant will perform a recital program between 15 and 20 minutes in length. The program must include:

  • An aria or a song by George Gershwin.
  • 1 classical arias NOT performed in the Semifinal Round.
  • The remainder of the program will be chosen by the vocalist.
