G.Gershwin International Music Competition 2013

About


The 1st G. Gershwin International Music Competition 2013 took place at the luxurious Regina Opera Auditorium in Brooklyn, New York; a city, where George Gershwin was born. Competition Participants represented 21 countries around the world: USA, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Cuba, Bolivia, Russia, Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Netherlands, Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Israel, Egypt, Syria, and Uzbekistan.
Gershwin Competition 2013 Jury was comprised from notable musicians, representing USA, Russia, Israel, Finland, Denmark, South Korea, China, Taiwan, and Ukraine. Officials from the State, New York City and Borough of Brooklyn generously supported this international event. Some of the esteemed invited guests – politicians (Assemblyman Alec Bruk-Krasny and Councilman Mathieu Eugene), businessmen and clerics - were present at the Award Ceremony and the Winners' Gala Concert. Local media – press, TV and radio - were invited to illuminate the competition. Channel 12 News Brooklyn made a report on the Preliminary Round of the Competition. Newspapers and journals in various languages from Boston to Washington published articles about the event.

Pianist Anastasia Ryzykov (Canada) ~ GRAND-PRIX Winner
G.Gershwin International Competition 2013

On December 14 Anastasia Rizikov was named the Grand-Prix winner of the 2013 G.Gershwin International Piano Competition. She was selected from a field of 32 candidates. In addition to a cash prize of $5,000 presented by G.Gershwin International Competition, Ms. Rizikov received concert engagements, and 2 years of management services from LINK Music Management.

Career Highlights

Ms. Ryzykov's recent career highlights include winning first places at the Jaén International Piano Competition 2015 and the Ettore Pozzoli International Piano Competition 2015, recording a CD with NAXOS, and performing at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland.
