Application process

All applicants must submit:

• - Completed application form, indicating Preliminary Round type (Live in New York, February 27-28, 2025, or via a Recording, or by performing at Concert Series).


• - A NON-REFUNDABLE application fee as follows:
  
  $100 - Piano Solo and Duos, applying as Chamber Ensemble.
  $150 - Trios
  $180 - Quartets
  $250 - Ensembles with 5 or more players
  
  
  $125 - Vertex Concerto Competition
  
  
  $225 - Apply for both: Gershwin &
  Vertex Concerto Competition


• Supporting materials:
  • - Biography
  • - 1 photograph (headshot)
  • - Proof of age (photocopy of birth certificate, driver's license, passport, etc.)

Preliminary Round

To be admitted to the competition's final rounds, applicants must go through the preliminary audition.
To do so, applicants must choose between two audition options:

Option 1: Live Pre-Selection Audition

The Gershwin Competition 2025 Live Preliminary Audition will take place in: New York City (United States) - February 27 and 28 at Piano Piano Studios

Option 2: Video Recording Audition

Alternatively, candidates can apply to The Gershwin Competition 2025 by submitting a video recording.
Please listen to the video files before submitting to guarantee the highest quality of the recording.
Recording formats: DVD or Internet video recording (Highly preferable, such as Youtube, Vimeo, Soundcloud, etc.)

Option 3: Concert Series Audition

Candidates can also apply to The Gershwin Competition by participating in the Gershwin Concert Series.
Gershwin Concert Series consist of joined mini-recitals, and will take place at various venues around New York, and in Europe, May to September, 2025.
Exact locations and venues are to be posted in April 2025.
