Eligibility

Gershwin Competition 2025 is open for Pianists and Chamber Ensembles.
2025 Vertex Concerto Competition is open for Piano, Strings, Winds, Brass, Harp, Guitar, Percussion and Voice.

Dates

Preliminary Round of the Gershwin Competition AND 2025 Vertex Concerto Competition takes place February 27-28 (via Live audition in New York).

Semifinal and Final Rounds of The 2025 G. Gershwin International Competition for Piano and Chamber Ensembles takes place October 29-November 3, 2025.


Competition will be presented in 3 age categories: 8-12, 13-17, and 18-38 (inclusive).

NEW! The VI George Gershwin Competition collaborates with the Vertex Music Competition to present winners with opportunities to perform solo with symphony orchestras in the United States and in Europe.

The Competition is named after George Gershwin, whose music had long been a part of the American consciousness. Truly a pioneer in his field, George Gershwin drew inspiration from European classical music, American popular music, and jazz to form a unique style that would come to define American music.

Offering international talents performance opportunities, the competition aims to universalize George Gershwin's extraordinary legacy around the world. George Gershwin International Music Competition 2025 is a magical journey to the world of music. A week, full of exquisite performances, master classes, and enlightening community outreach concerts, culminate with the competition Award Ceremony, when the winners will be presented with prizes and concert engagements.

Along with monetary awards, finalists of the Gershwin International Music Competition 2023 will receive concerts in the United States and Europe, recordings on acclaimed music label, appearences with orchestras, alongside with marketing/media promotion.

Founded in 2013 by American pianist and composer Michael Bulychev-Okser, George Gershwin International Music Competition takes place every two years in New York, USA, and is open to talented musicians of all nationalities.
